Recently, a man named A. J. Jacobs has appeared in several cable television shows claiming that he stayed true to ALL the laws given by God in the Bible for a year. There is more than seven hundred laws given and to this point in life no one has been able to obtain or maintain all of them, except Christ.

Jacobs, a Jew by birth, and an agnostic by choice, considers himself successful in his achievements and the media does not hesitate to give him air time to make his proclamation. As far as I am concern, not one single man has ever maintained a true obedience to the law. Neither did Moses (from the Old Testament) to Peter (from the New Testament). What makes Jacobs so special? Nothing, besides, true ignorance!

Jesus Christ came to this world because man were being slaved to the law in order to obtain a close relationship with God. Since that is impossible, Christ died for the forgiveness of our sins in order that we obtain a face to face, father and son (daughter) relationship with God.

The purpose of Jacobs "experiment" was to obtain two of the following:

1. To find the experience that millions in American share with God.
2. To obtain a Godly spiritual gain in life and a better understanding.

Although, he feels successful, he is truly wrong. A relationship with God is not living every law to its point. There is one way through God and that is through Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

This whole experience by Jacobs reminds me of Matthew 19:16-21. Although Jacobs is not a rich man, he is full of rich ignorance.
