RED CROSS AGAINTS THE TRUTH

During the recent fires in Southern California, evacuees huddled in centers to escape the danger of the fires. Many volunteers moved to action by their plight were surprised to find that the Red Cross was accepting donations of all kinds – except for Bibles.
As the wildfires increased with fury, a Southern California resident sprang into action and distributed Bibles throughout shelters and aid stations through the SoCal (Southern California) region. The Bibles were accepted by evacuees, and in some locations, all Bibles were taken within moments of delivery.

Due to the tremendously encouraging response from evacuees, the SoCal resident (who whishes to remain anonymous due to ongoing work among fire victims), was surprised to come across opposition not from evacuees, but from workers at a Red Cross shelter. The Red Cross staff insisted, as a matter of policy, that they could not accept donated Bible, but Harry Potter and John Grisham novels would be accepted. No Bibles at all. Later it was confirmed with the head of the shelter that their stance was an official Red Cross policy.

It is absolutely true that the Red Cross has provided priceless assistance in disasters all over the world. It is also true to be a disappointment and insulting to the many people of faith who support the Red Cross that the organization would reject the acceptance of donated Bibles.
Through out times of disasters, it has been proven that victims need and seek a comfort that only Christ can provide. The human mind and body do not only depend on monetary comfort, but also comfort on the arms of Christ.

The policy of the Red Cross (not accepting Bibles) leaves the heart of many empty. Although most people do recover from disasters, many do not.

It just leaves me to wonder, if it had been donated books of Islamic religion (Koran), I guarantee that this so call stand from the Red Cross would be overturned.

Pastor J,

This is an OUTRAGE!

Whereas the First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion OR abridging the free exercise OF religion, the Red Cross is simply, therefore, UN-AMERICAN!

The Military allows for Bible distribution (so long as each major, non-occult religious group is also allowed such access).

The Prison system also makes Bibles readily available.

Why does the Red Cross go against BOTH Constitutional Law AND societal norms?

I hope that they get SUED.

Love always in Jesus Christ,
